Tizen was to be released in late 2013, then in January’15, Samsung Z the first Tizen phone, was released in the South Asian market. Tizen deliver multi-tasking, 3D window effects, multi-touch, location-based service frameworks, sensor and multi-screen resolutions support to the smartphone. Unfortunately, Samsung Z failed to get much attention in a competitive Indian Market.
Librem is a not an open source OS but an open source mobile phone. For security and privacy purpose PureOS has plan to launch the Librem. Librem will be operating as a touch-optimized version of PureOS, Ubuntu, Debian, SUSE, Fedora and also Arch Linux.
KDE announced it’s the open source mobile OS Plasma Mobile. Based on Kubuntu, Plasma Mobile is the only mobile versions of desktop Plasma user interface that main aims to provide convergence to KDE users. KDE Plasma 5 is the successor of KDE Plasma 4 and was initially released on 15 July 2014. Plasma mobile OS is in the experimental phase and it can be tested on Lg Nexus 5 devices.
postmarketOS is a free and open-source operating system under development primarily for smartphones, based on the Alpine Linux distribution. It’s a touch-optimized, pre-configured Alpine Linux with own packages, that can be installed on smartphones. Android or iOS stop providing updates for older version smartphones. At the time, the user can run Linux on older computers easily. postmarketOS wants to achieve the this idea same on the mobile platform by tweaking Linux into a touch optimized platform.Now it’s in development phase the users won’t be able to use it on your smartphone just yet.

Lineage OS is open-source operating system for smartphone and tablet computers, based on the Android mobile platform. Started in December 2016, LineageOS now supports 178 smartphone models.
Eelo is an upcoming Android distribution based on LineageOS and it’s creating a desirable, privacy-enabled and open source mobile operating system, and associated web services. It is being created by the developer of Mandrake Linux and it’s in very early phases of development.
These are some quick alternative OS to Android which are currently getting emerged. From the list, not all the OS reaches all over the world, only few has reached and other OS has reached only few places in the world. Though we have various Alternative OS to Android, but not all gives the fuller experience as user expect ans also has less compatibility and features compare to the Android. But we can’t completely accept the fact because users has diverse needs so any OS can preferably fill the needs based on it’s Platform specifications.
